Having had a variety of music teachers over a span of almost 40 years, I
know what works and what doesn't. First and foremost, Darren's
knowledge of drums is extensive and solid. Couple that with an ability to
reach his students both through individual lessons and through group
seminars makes for a winning combination. Both children and adults will
appreciate Darren's warm, sincere and sometimes humorous approach to

Darren is a combination of austere discipline, dedication, and focus. His
quiet intensity and seriousness often erupts into wild flights of humor
and laughter when it is least expected. For me Darren was a constant
source of inspiration. Everytime he sat down at a drum set, I was never
far away, watching and listening, attempting to understand the
complexities and subtleties of his art. Appreciating it was easy,
comprehending it was challenging.
